In case you were surprised to hear that Microsoft is holding another AppFest coding marathon in India, it’s because young developers need to be encouraged to create apps for the new Windows 8.

And as far as the company is concerned, its efforts are quickly paying off. Rahul Dominic, for example, is a 15-year-old boy living in India who created Duco Paint, a simple yet powerful paint application for Windows 8 that comes with a freeware license.

The idea behind this tool is pretty simple: you don’t need to be an artist to make art, he told DNA India.

“Duco Paint has 25 different types of paint brushes, including the regular paint brush. With the 24 unique styles, you can create something aesthetically beautiful. I developed it because I’m am not very artistic either,” he said.

The app is already available in the Store, so click here to load the Windows Store page in your browser.
