8StartButton 2.4.2 is now available for download, bringing a number of fixes and performance improvements on both Windows 8 and 8.1.

According to the official release notes, the app packs not only a few modifications regarding the File Explorer context menu actions to force a directory refresh of items that are renamed, deleted, or created, but also fixes aimed at Start Menu items.

From now on, all apps should be executed properly, while every displayed item should appear in the Start Menu without any visual glitch.

8StartButton continues to offer support for both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, so you can download and install it even if you’ve already deployed Microsoft’s new OS update scheduled to be unveiled publicly on October 18. Windows 8 users will be allowed to download it freely from the Store.
