8StartButton is one of the many apps available on the market that can bring a Start button back in Windows 8, so this new update is quite good news for lots of users out there.

Version 1.2.3 comes with some important changes in the way the app looks, especially due to the fact that Microsoft has apparently been upset with the icons used by Totalidea Software in 8StartButton.

According to the official release notes of the app, the devs have been forced by the Softies to change the Windows Start orb and some icons, including the one allowing users to launch Internet Explorer.

In addition to the Start Menu, 8StartButton also brings you the traditional options to turn off, restart or lock the PC with just a single click.

Unfortunately, the app is not available with a freeware license, only with a $11.5 (€10) price tag. It works on both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 8.
