Microsoft is indeed trying to move everyone from Windows XP to a newer operating system, but the company might actually be looking in the wrong place when trying to discontinue the ancient platform.

A quick search on Amazon returned thousands of results, most of which allow you to purchase a Windows XP license for less than $100 (€75).

Of course, this isn’t quite a low price and Windows XP still costs almost as much as the newly-launched Windows 8.1, but it’s still proof that users care so much about it that they’re ready to buy a license even though the platform is set to go dark in 90 days.

Windows XP is currently powering 28 percent of computers worldwide and figures would most likely decrease even more in the coming months, but Microsoft expects the market share to drop to just 13 percent by April.
