Even though Microsoft is also offering a built-in weather app for Windows 8 users, many are actually going for AccuWeather, a separate tool that provides a greater amount of information.

AccuWeather for Windows 8 has just received an update that should help the app work more smoothly, regardless of whether you’re using the desktop or the tablet version of the operating system.

The official release notes published in the Store point to stability improvements and bug fixes, so no new options are included in this build.

On the other hand, the update is expected to fix some issues that blocked the app from auto-refreshing weather information, while some users reported that a bug would crash AccuWeather immediately after launch.
