Adobe released a new beta for both Flash Player 11.2 and AIR Runtime 3.2. Besides bug fixing and smoothing out the edges, specific to beta development, the new builds also feature new stuff.

When possible, content using direct mode for Flash Player or “renderMode=direct” for AIR, Stage3D and StageVideo included, should now be hardware accelerated with drivers for graphics cards newer than 1/1/2008, thus relaxing the previous 1/1/2009 gating.

Introduced in beta 4 is a new ThrottleEvent (ThrottleEvent.state=ThrottleType.THROTTLE), which is dispatched by the stage when the Flash Player throttles, pauses or resumes content. The ThrottleEvent is deployed before throttling the content and the result would be a new target frame rate, which should generally be between the values of 2 and 8.
