The beta version of Adobe Flash Player has received a new round of improvements this morning, so in case you’re already running a preview build, you’re highly recommended to get the new one as soon as possible.

While it’s still in beta, the new Flash Player 12 release comes to address a number of bugs, which means that a number of crashes and performance issues on specific websites should no longer occur.

The official changelog reveals that Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.17 Beta packs so-called Supplementary Characters Enhancement Support for TextField.

“This is a desktop enhancement for supporting surrogate pairs in the TextField control. Now, characters out of the Basic Multilingual Plane(BMP) with Unicode code points between U+10000 and U+10FFFF will work correctly in the TextField control. It greatly enlarges the code point range we support and includes characters like emotion symbols (emoticons) and complex CCJK characters,” Adobe explained.

The company says that this particular feature is only in development stages right now in Flash Player 12, but will debut at a later time in a stable build.

Overall, the update is recommended for all those already running the beta, so download Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.17 right now to make sure that all bugs are fixed.
