Adobe released an update for Illustrator CC (Windows) that does away with several issues that affected the functionality of the application.

Users should no longer have trouble launching the Spanish version of the suite on the latest Windows operating system (8.1). Also, build 17.0.1 of Illustrator CC can save a file even if the preview is displayed in a dialog box.

Additional glitches addressed by the developer in this release include importing of all DWG layers into a single one despite the layer merging option being disabled.

Also DWG-related is the issue with placing such a file and the topmost artwork being loaded on the place gun while the rest of it is placed in the document.

The developer informs that copying items between documents no longer results in unwanted swatches and slow-down of Illustrator.

This release includes repairs touching on stability as well. Adobe warns that updating the Mac release to this version may result in failure to launch Illustrator and points to a knowledge base article to solve the problem.
