Microsoft is yet to introduce new icons in Windows 10

Microsoft's new Windows 10 icons have been heavily criticized by users across the world, pretty much because the company went all in on a flat design and decided to introduce much simpler icons with little visual tweaks.

But while the company has promised to introduce new icons in future Windows 10 updates, designers across the world create their very own interpretations of the icons that could be implemented in the new operating system.

Of course, chances to see this happening are minimal, but at least we can get a better view of what users expect to get in the new OS.

This is the case of these icons designed by Matthew Langdon, who created a new File Explorer version with his own icons.

As you can see in the screenshot below, these third-party icons aren't as simple as Microsoft's, but they still seem to have that little something that makes them look good on the desktop, which is probably what Microsoft hopes to get with Windows 10 as well.

Microsoft has previously said that the icons we see right now in Windows 10 are just part of a very early UI, hinting that they could change before the new operating system hits the latest stages of development.

The recently leaked version 10051 comes with the exact same icons, so we're still wondering when exactly the company plans to introduce a new icon pack.
