Audacity made the move to 1.3.14 RC1 from 1.3.13 beta. The differences between the two versions do not consist in new features, but amount of bug fixing. The latest release is a much more stable edition as it takes care of plenty of issues affecting both functionality and overall stability of the program.

Importing and exporting has been improved by allowing MP2 files to be loaded without the need of FFMpeg library or an import rule.

Effects and analysis also underwent changes for the better, as Plot Spectrum now preserves signal level when multiple tracks are analyzed.

Additional improvements refer to “normalize” filter which comes with improved processing, spectrograms and Mix and Render feature.

If you’re looking for CleanSpeech Mode in the latest release, you’re in for a surprise because it is gone. It still runs if it was enabled in a previous version, but you can only turn it off.
