Audiggle is a simple desktop application designed to identify audio tracks playing on your computer. It is similar to smartphone apps such as Shazam or SoundHound, but it runs on Windows or Mac systems.

You need to sign up for an account in order to use the application. Registration is free of charge, but you cannot use the application for free for too long because there is a search limit imposed by the developer.

After that you need to buy some credits (£10 for 100 credits, £20 for 250, £50 for 750 or you can pay £10/month for unlimited queries). I guess they’re thinking that if you’re liable to forget songs you’re also liable to pay.

The features are pretty cool, since they are not limited to audio recognition but extend to searching lyrics or finding concert tickets for your favorite bands.
