Every single device that runs on electricity emits a certain amount of radiation. One in particular raised concerns throughout the years, especially with the evolving trend that created a dependency for it. The item in question is your monitor.

Radiation is not the only danger, with poor room lighting, your vision can seriously be affected. We managed to stumble upon an application that aims to correct the difference between environment light levels and your monitor’s brightness.

Make brightness adjust itself

Step 1: Download, install, and run SunsetScreen.

Step 2: Press the orange button at the bottom of the main window to Expand colour range. This requires a system restart, because Windows limits color range by default.

Step 3: Run the application again and make sure the option to Load on Windows startup is enabled.

Step 4: Choose between a 24 or 12 H clock format.

Step 5: Set Sunrise Time, as well as the length of a day by adjusting Daylight until sunset in hours.

Step 6: Select the Transition phase either by writing down the number of minutes or choosing from several preset options.

Step 7: In the Night Colour tab, move the Sunset colour slider to a suitable position, or pick from several Night Preset color configurations.

Step 8: Switch to the Day Colour tab and do the same as for Step 7.

Note: For the best experience, it’s best you make these configurations in light conditions you use at night and in daytime.

Step 9: Click on More Options to enable hotkeys for toggling SunsetScreen, as well as increasing and decreasing brightness.

Step 10: Hit the Send window to tray button. Brightness now automatically changes according to your system clock.
