The beta version of the application has received a new update

Anti-virus vendors are slowly updating their security products to work on Windows 8.1, so users are now provided with several solutions that offer full support for Microsoft’s new OS.

Avast! Free Antivirus is one of the newest products that are compatible with Windows 8.1, as a new beta version released today comes to fix BSODs experienced on Microsoft’s new OS update.

In addition, Avast! Free Antivirus 8.0.1496 comes with several improvements in approach to virtualization, while also making Script Shield compatible with the latest browser updates.

The security product should work flawlessly on all Windows versions on the market, but don’t forget that it’s still in beta stage, so a number of issues might still be spotted, especially on the newly launched Windows 8.1 Preview.
