Chase Bank will remove its WP app from the store

The lack of apps on Windows Phone keeps hurting Microsoft and its users, as Chase, one of the biggest banks in the United States, has decided to drop support for Redmond's mobile phone platform completely.

In a message submitted to its clients, Chase says that its Windows Phone app will no longer be available for download starting later this month, with the app to completely stop working on devices where it is already installed on March 22.

The reason for this decision is as painful as it true: Chase's Windows Phone app has only a few users, so the company has no interest in keeping it alive and delivering any other updates in the future.

The Chase Mobile app was officially launched on Windows Phone in the fall of 2012 and received the last update in August 2014. It allowed users to perform almost the same tasks as any other mobile banking app, including paying bills, keeping an eye on deposits, making quick transfers and everything else that you can do with a bank account online.

Obviously, this is quite a major setback for Chase customers using Windows Phone, but the bank says that the very same features remain available for everyone using the browser to login into their accounts through the mobile interface of the company's browser.

In the meantime, Android and iOS apps continue to be available and to get updates on a regular basis...
