While Steve Ballmer thinks that Windows 8 will change the world just like Windows 95 did a long time ago, Microsoft founder Bill Gates is much more evasive and says that he’s simply pleased with the new operating system.

Bill Gates revealed that he’s already using Windows 8 and called the new operating system “a very exciting new product” that’s likely to be “a very big deal” for the Redmond-based technology giant.

What’s more, Gates admitted that Windows 8 indeed needs new hardware to run smoothly, but he praised all partners in the IT industry for their efforts.

"Hardware partners are doing great things to take advantage of the features," Gates was quoted as saying by NewsFactor.com.

Windows 8 will be officially unveiled on October 25 as part of a New York event when Microsoft is also expected to present the company’s Surface tablet running Windows RT.
