Piriform just released a new build for their system cleaning application, CCleaner, incrementing the version number to 3.22.

Chief among the modifications is full support for the soon to be launched Windows 8 operating system.

However, this is not the only important change available, as the developer operated a set of improvements touching on Startup Item tool compatibility, benchmarking for Cleaner summary results and support for Custom Files and Folders. Enhancements also refer to file security algorithms and wildcard support in search boxes.

CCleaner 3.22 brings to the table a new option that lets you exclude a single registry value.

As for the repairs, the developer repaired support for Windows 2000 operating system.

CCleaner is available for download as a portable program (no installation is required) on this page.
