CCleaner is one of the leading apps as far as system optimization is concerned, as it comes with a very appealing feature package that helps users boost computer performance and get rid of unnecessary items that could slow down the machine and eat up storage space.

A new version of the app was released today to bring not only support for new apps, but also several important bug fixes that would thus lead to enhanced reliability and stability on all Windows systems.

Version 4.15 adds support for the 64-bit version of Google Chrome, which is currently part of the dev and Canary channels, but is set to be pushed to the beta stage in the coming weeks. CCleaner can thus clean Chrome 64-bit history and cookies too, thus contributing to an overall increase in browsing performance when using this new version of the browser.

At the same time, the new CCleaner build adds improved memory usage and management architecture, while also enhancing the Wipe Free Space algorithm for better performance.

The developing team said in the release notes sent to us a few minutes ago that CCleaner 4.15 can also work with some new apps, including Snagit 12, Format Factory, Nitro PDF Reader and Virtual DJ, all of which benefit from its cleaning capabilities, but also with Yandex browser, which is quickly gaining in popularity lately.

Today's release also adds social media links and updates various translations, while also bringing minor GUI improvements and bug fixes for a much more stable and reliable experience.

Just like it was the case with previous releases, you can install the new build over the existing version and all your settings will be preserved, according to the developing company.

“You can install newer versions over the top of older versions, without having to uninstall. If you do uninstall an old version first, you will lose your existing settings,” it says.

CCleaner 4.15 continues to offer support for all Windows versions on the market, including not only the recently-launched Windows 8.1 Update, but also the old XP, which is officially unsupported since April 8. Millions of computers are still running Windows XP, so CCleaner definitely comes in handy especially when trying to optimize an old machine for better performance.

Overall, today's new version is clearly a great addition to your app arsenal as far as system optimization is concerned, so go ahead and download CCleaner 4.15 right now to get all these improvements on your computer too.
