Calibre has just been updated to build 0.9.5. The fresh revision carries new features designed to increase its functionality, but repairs are also available.

Starting this version, the application gains support for the CSS3 Fonts module, which allows you to embed font families that have more than the regular four faces. Mind that the fonts are displayed on the reader only if the device supports CSS3.

Also font-related is a new custom font scanner that can locate fonts on the system faster and which is less susceptible to crashes.

Another functionality introduced is the possibility to specify an alias in order to identify a recipient’s address when sharing files via email.

Repairs available in this release address issues with the Kobo driver. Shelves containing books on an SD card (when used) are no longer deleted because there might be items in the main memory.
