Catan is one of the latest exciting games that reached the Windows Store, thus providing adopters of Microsoft's new OS with another way to spend their free time right in the Modern UI.

The game is based on the classic Settlers of Catan board game and packs 2 different graphic modes, multiplayer support on the same tablet, 10 computer opponents and awesome music and sound effects.

“You start in the wilderness as a settler, build outposts and trade to obtain resources. As you build your community, you’ll face challenges from neighboring settlers. Play against the computer or compete against up to four players – just like the original – for the most settlements, the longest roads and the biggest army,” Microsoft explained.

“Seafarers” and “Cities and Knights” expansion packs are also available for users who want additional scenarios, islands, ships, pirates, and gold fields.

Of course, the game can be played on both desktops and tablets, so download Catan for Windows 8.1 right now to see what it's up to.
