Microsoft continues its efforts to move users from Internet Explorer 6 to a newer version of its in-house browser but, as far as some people are concerned, this is the best choice when it comes to browsing the web with ease.

If we have a look at Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 Countdown map, 25.8 percent of the users living in China are still running IE6, even though most of the countries have already made the switch to a newer browser.

The company’s main goal is to bring IE6 to a market share below 1 percent and thus allow “more websites to drop support for this version, saving hours of work for web developers.”

Most countries have dumped IE6 already, so now the browser has a market share of 0.4 percent in Turkey, 0.7 percent in Venezuela, 0.2 percent in the United States, 0.3 percent in Canada and 0.6 percent in the United Kingdom.
