Piriform has rolled out a new build for their defragmenting utility. Defraggler 2.08 shows a very interesting changelog, with several important new features.

The new stuff introduced by the latest release of the application includes disk and file benchmarking, VSS (Volume Shadow Service) compatible mode and Real Value information to S.M.A.R.T. data.

Besides adding new features to the package the developer also improved the application by fixing some issues. Health tab can be switched to imperial units and show temperature in Fahrenheit.

Overall drive health checking has also been improved. The new version comes with improvements when it comes to detecting solid-state drives.

Moreover, the defrag algorithm has been improved and scheduler’s stop commands have undergone some minor fixes.

Defraggler works on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems and comes with a portable version which does not need to be installed.
