Major bugs hitting developers on the new Windows 10 build

Microsoft released Windows 10 build 10049 this morning, and unsurprisingly, plenty of insiders out there have rushed to download it, but not everyone should do it. At least, that's what the software giant itself says.

Windows 10 build 10049 comes with some critical bugs that might be impacting developers' work on the technical preview, so if you plan to create universal apps, it's better to wait until today's release becomes available via the slow ring.

Usually, builds that reach the slow ring are more stable and less prone to bugs, so that's why developers are recommended to wait a little bit longer.

According to Microsoft itself, there are 2 issues affecting Windows Studio 2015 preview on this build. One is affecting the XAML designer in VS, causing Blend to crash when launched, whereas the other one prevents emulators from booting, thus being impossible to deploy a Windows Universal app to the Mobile emulator.

Windows 10 build 10049 is the first one that comes with Spartan browser, the new app expected to replace Internet Explorer when the operating system becomes available.

Obviously, it's not really a build aimed at developers, but one that provides us with the very first glimpse into the new browser, so unless you really need to try Spartan out, it's better to wait a little bit longer until the slow channel gets it too.
