Advanced Codecs for Windows 7 and 8 4.1.7 final is now available for download, so users who have already downloaded and installed it are now recommended to update to the latest version.

Given the fact that it’s a stable release, it’s supposed to fix all previously-reported bugs, so a greatly improved media playback experience is very likely after the update.

According to the official release notes, the codec package updates LAV and BE filters, as well as Icaros components to version 2.2.2b3.

As you could guess by simply reading the app’s name, it’s specifically designed for Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers, with both 32- and 64-bit versions of the new Microsoft operating system being supported by the codec package.
