Microsoft officially rolled out the first Patch Tuesday updates of the year a couple of days ago in order to patch 12 different vulnerabilities in its software solutions.

While all these updates are being delivered via the integrated Windows Update feature, administrators who wish to get the security updates manually can also turn to the Security Release ISO image for January 2013.

The DVD5 ISO pack comprises only Windows updates and doesn’t come with security patches for any other Microsoft product.

It does support the majority of Windows versions, however, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and the newly released Windows 8. Fixes for the tablet-oriented Windows RT are also available.
