Developers interested in the building of Windows applications that take advantage of Microsoft’s Kinect sensor can download and install an upgraded Developer Toolkit that the company released for them.

Now available as version 1.5.2, the Kinect for Windows Developer Toolkit comes with source code samples, Kinect Studio, Face Tracking SDK, and other resources that are meant to make the development of Kinect for Windows applications easier than before.

To benefit from the content included in the toolkit, however, developers will have to download and install the Kinect for Windows SDK 1.5 on their computers.

The software sports support for Windows 7 and Windows Embedded Standard 7, and requires a Microsoft Kinect for Windows sensor to have been attached to the computer. The toolkit is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
