It’s been a while since Media Player Classic Home Cinema received an update, but today the developer announced that version 1.6.0 is available for download.

The new release comes with a pretty hefty list of changes, which include both new stuff and fixes and updates for the built-in components.

Among the most important features introduced in this build is adding a multithreaded decoder, support for DTS audio in MP4/MOV Splitter and new command-line options (“/regpl” to create file associations for playlist files and “/regall” to create file associations for all the file types MPC-HC can handle).

Issues fixed in this release refer to the audio decoder trying to decode AC3 stream as E-AC3 in some cases, audio stutter in some DTS for SPDIF output, playing AAC files, Windows 7 taskbar preview or ignored aspect ratio in the case of Matroska MKV (MPEG2). The full set of changes is available on this page.
