Microsoft has just released an updated version of its Camera Codec Pack that brings support for some new device formats.

As you probably know by now, Microsoft Camera Codec Pack is a software that allows users to view device-specific file formats in Windows Live Photo Gallery, Windows Explorer and other applications that use the Windows Imaging codecs.

At this point, the pack provides support for a wide array of Canon and Nikon cameras, but it also allows you to view file formats used by Sony, Olympus, Pentax and Minolta cameras.

The pack can be deployed on Windows Vista and Windows 7, with both 32- and 64-bit versions supported. Keep in mind that Microsoft provides dedicated builds for these operating systems, so make sure you download the correct version.
