A new flavor of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT) is now available for download.

The new release comes with support for finding and cleaning two new malicious software families, namely Win32/Matsnu and Win32/Bafruz.

The new version of the tool was made available for all Windows users who have the Windows Update feature active on their computers. It is also up for download via the Microsoft Update.

The tool runs in the background and informs users of any malware infections that it has found on the machine. According to Microsoft, although the computer appears to be running normally, users should perform regular scans to make sure that no unwanted software is running on their PCs.

The new updated flavor of the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool was released along with the usual Tuesday patch and can be downloaded from Softpedia as well, via this link.
