Just like it does every Patch Tuesday, Microsoft has launched a new version of its Malicious Software Removal Tool, thus providing Windows users with detection and cleaning capabilities for new malware.

According to the official release notes, version 5.5 comes with support for Simda, so in case your computer got infected with this type of malware, you could try getting rid of it by updating Microsoft’s anti-malware solution.

While the application is also available as a manual download, it’s already included in the monthly Patch Tuesday cycle, which means that every new version is automatically delivered to all computers with Windows Update turned on.

Of course, it can be used on any Windows version on the market right now, including the old XP and the modern Windows 8. Bot 32- and 64-bit versions are supported.
