The Microsoft News app, however, is a very simple alternative that’s based on the official Microsoft blogs and the news center, providing you the latest official news concerning the Redmond-based technology titan on the Start Screen.
The app doesn’t require more than an Internet connection, as it automatically retrieves the news stories and displays them in the main window.
The good news is that it works on both x86 and x64 Windows 8 versions, but it also supports ARM devices, including Microsoft’s very own Surface RT tablet.
