Opera just released version 12.02 of their browser, for all supported platforms (Windows Mac and Linux). It is not a major revision, albeit an important one, since it integrates security and stability improvements.

Compared to the previous intermediary build there are very few modifications. Apart from general repairs and stability enhancements, the development team solved the problems with Speed Dial thumbnails when set to automatic scaling.

However, on Windows, the out-of-process plugin system on the 32-bit version seems to cause stability problems serious enough to make Opera revert this version to in-process plugins until the investigation is over and a solution is implemented. No problems have been signaled as far as the 64-bit edition is concerned.

Security-wise, the developer fixed a low severity issue that referred to the download dialog not being fully displayed.
