A new version of Skype for Windows is now available for download, bringing a couple of new features, plus several bug improvements.

Skype 6.2 for Windows comes with a redesigned top toolbar that now comprises all action buttons in one place, including options to access “Home,” “Phones,” “Groups,” and “Add Contacts.”

In addition, the new version integrates a new tool called eGifting. “Skype users can now send a gift or credit to anyone they care about,” the Skype team explained in a blog post. It’s not yet clear whether the same improvements will be introduced in the Mac version too.

Last but not least, Skype 6.2 adds an option to send IM with CTRL + Enter, while computers with Intel Pentium 3 or similar CPUs, which do not support SSE2 instructions, are not supported anymore.
