As we reported to you yesterday, a bug in Skype caused the app to crash on the most popular desktop and mobile platforms out there, but new versions that have been rolled out by Microsoft today come to correct this.

Skype 7.5.73.102 doesn’t bring any other changes except for the aforementioned bug fix, so in case your computer was impacted by this issue, you’re strongly recommended to update as soon as possible.

Basically, the bug that was spotted not long ago in Skype for Windows, iOS, and Android was causing the VoIP client to crash whenever the user or the contact at the other end of the line was writing “http://:” in a conversation window.

The bug only affected these three versions on Skype, and users on Mac OS X and Linux were said to be on the safe side, as replicating the bug on these platforms didn’t crash the Skype client.

Needless to say, everyone is recommended to get today’s update because it fixes one of the most widespread bugs found lately, so go ahead and download Skype 7.5.73.102 for Windows to make sure the issue doesn’t exist on your computer anymore.

Updated versions of Skype for other platforms are also expected to be released soon, so keep an eye on our news section to find out when they become available.
