While Microsoft expects Windows 8 adopters to get used to the Start Screen, many actually download and install third-party solutions that bring back the utterly popular Start Menu.
Such an application is also the so-called StartW8, a very simple app that does the same thing as Start8, but for free.
The program brings the traditional Start Menu on any Windows 8 computer, but it also comes with dedicated options to skip the Start Screen and log in directly to desktop.
The Start Menu comprises all the options you would ever need, such as log off, lock and turn off buttons, favorite applications, a search box and support for the Win key on your keyboard.
As said, the app is free of charge and can be used on both 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro.
