The latest revision for TightVNC does not include new features as the developer focused on eliminating issues affecting the functionality of the product.

On Windows, you can now safely change the screen properties (resolution included) on the server.

On the same note, users should no longer experience problems with the desktop size when the server runs on Windows 7 SP1 or Server 2008 SP1 and there are no drivers installed.

Server performance has been improved in this release when the remote desktop is displayed at its original size. Moreover, the picture quality should be better in case pixel-size checkerboard patterns are used.

Some progress has been made performance-wise, as well. The developer optimized Tight encoder for faster working, and according to the release notes the speed of ZRLE encoding has been increased up to 25%.

In the case of the Viewer, the developer addressed a compatibility issue with non-TightVNC servers (Mac remote desktop, UltraVNC) when ZRLE encoding is used. Also, memory usage during the same operation has been optimized.
