Microsoft introduced new wallpapers in this build

Windows 10 build 9901 was leaked a few days ago, and many people noticed that Microsoft introduced a bunch of new wallpapers in this particular version, probably in an attempt to pave the way for a possible consumer preview release in the coming months.

The five new wallpapers that are available in Windows 10 build 9901 can be accessed from the personalization screen, so simply right-click on the desktop, hit “Personalize,” and look for the Windows Technical Preview in the Windows Default Themes section.

Activate it and you’re good to go. There are only five wallpapers available right now, one of which is designed for multi-monitors configurations, but more could be implemented in future builds.

All these wallpapers are available in the gallery below, but Microsoft hasn’t yet provided high-resolution versions of these photos, so when installing build 9901, you might see them scaling up on the desktop to fit the screen.

And still, they do come with pretty good quality and they’re a nice way to customize the desktop in case you’re tired of the old wallpaper.

Of course, just like it happened with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, Windows 10 will ship with a new wallpaper, but we still don’t know which one it is. According to sources, Windows 10 could debut in late summer or early fall 2015, so more details could be provided after the launch of the consumer preview build, in a few months.
