A new stable release is now available for foobar2000 audio player. It’s been through two betas and it brings to the table several improvements and fixes.

New capabilities available in this release include skipping hidden files and subfolders when loading a directory, tagging AIFF files, handling of images in WAV and AIFF files as well as the possibility to transfer the attached picture when converting said file types.

Also new is the support for scrolling gesture on Windows 8 tablet devices. This feature has been added in the final release of this build.

foobar2000 1.2.5 should be better at handling various malformed WAV files and now the Converter component can write files the program cannot tag.

Another fix present in this release refers to “verify integrity of played files” option disabling HDCD and DTS decoder components.

foobar2000 is available for download from this link; during installation you can choose to make it portable.
