While Microsoft doesn’t offer a built-in Modern file manager for Windows 8, but only the desktop version of File Explorer, there are several great alternatives in the Windows Store, most of them providing a fully touch-optimized experience.

File Browser is one of the few apps that truly deserve a chance, as it packs a straightforward and user-friendly interface that does its job on both the desktop and the tablet version of Windows 8.

You can perform basic file operations, such as copy, move, rename, delete and create new folders, pin important folders to the Start Screen, share files with the Share Charm and launch specific items with just one tap.

The latest version comes with a new app tile and bar animations, while also fixing some of the previously reported bugs.
