Microsoft has recently rolled out the so-called Security Release ISO Image March 2013 that allows system administrators to manually deploy the fixes rolled out today as part of this month’s Patch Tuesday updates.

The ISO image packs all updates aimed at Windows workstations, including the newly released 8 and RT, but also the older XP, Vista and 7.

Patch Tuesday brought a total of 7 bulletins supposed to fix 20 different vulnerabilities, nine of which had been affecting every single version of Internet Explorer still supported by Microsoft.

Microsoft recommends administrators to prioritize the deployment of Internet Explorer, kernel drivers and Silverlight patches, as they are supposed to fix critical vulnerabilities that would allow an attacker to take full control of an unpatched workstation.
