The stable version of Dropbox went through two updates over the weekend. The newest build is 1.6.16 and has only one entry in the change log, which announces that the problem with OS X’s Finder crash has been eliminated.

In the previous build (1.6.15), which was released the same day as version 1.6.16, the set of modifications is not significantly larger, either. The development team disposed on some log messages that should not have made it in the final version of the application and they repaired the problem with syncing files called “..foo” on Windows operating system.

Development for the experimental build of the client has also progressed as the developer rolled out version 1.7.2.

The novelty in this one is a fresh tray popup interface that is a blend of the old menu features and a timeline of the most important sharing events in Dropbox. Links shared with you are displayed immediately and you will be able to accept or decline the folder sharing invitations straight from the desktop.
