14 DAY TRIAL // ESET has just released version 6 for Smart Security and NOD32 Antivirus. The new line of products comes with slightly changed looks, improvements around malware detection and cleaning and the scanning engine as well as new features.
“ESET Core Development has worked hard on redesigning the whole scanning engine, which is central to all ESET products. Now, due to faster processing of our engine, scanning itself is more effective. These products incorporate the new third generation of the ESET’s ThreatSense and ThreatSense.Net Advanced Heuristics with LiveGrid,” says Pavel Luka, ESET chief technology officer.
ESET Smart Security now integrates Anti-Theft module, designed to monitor a missing device and show its location on a Wi-Fi map when it becomes available online.
However, the feature is much more complex than this, as the first step taken by the suite when you flag the device as missing is to lock all user accounts and boot into a fake one, in order to protect your files.
Idle-state scanning is also specific to Smart Security product. It is designed to perform in-depth scans when the computer is not in use.
Both SET NOD32 Antivirus 6 and ESET Smart Security 6 include social media scanning feature and can perform scans while files are downloading.
