ESPN has just launched its very own app aimed at Windows 8 platforms, allowing users of the new Microsoft OS to get news, scores and in-depth game coverage right in their Modern interface.

With a pretty eye-candy interface, ESPN for Windows 8 offers support for myESPN accounts and synchronization features, thus being able to provide a fully personalized experience.

It provides breaking news, real-time score alerts, updates through the Start Screen live tiles, game coverage, podcasts and sharing features thanks to Charms integration.

Just as expected, the app is available for free in the Windows Store and it runs not only on x86 and x64 Windows 8 devices, but also on ARM units. This means that Surface RT owners can also install and run ESPN for Windows 8 via the built-in Store.
