Major improvements to the update delivery mechanism

Emsisoft launched a new major release for their Anti-Malware suite, which brings to the table important improvements touching on overall performance of the package.

Version 8.0 of the bundle should be able to update in a shorter amount of time because the developer implemented parallel downloads during the update procedure, which spares a lot of the local bandwidth.

According to the official notes, the routine has also been optimized and the result is a lower processing time, down to less than three seconds from about 20.

An important contributor to faster updates is a distributed network of servers in more than 30 data processing centers around the globe.

Apart from the improvements touching on the update routine, in the new Emsisoft Anti-Malware the signature database has been cleaned up and thus reduced.

The malware cleaning engine should now be more thorough with the removal of detected infections.

At the moment the new release is available through the internal update mechanism of the suite, as an installer has not yet been provided by the developer.
