The developer of Emsisoft Anti-Malware released an update for version 7.0.0.21 of the suite, which is a maintenance revision.

Despite being a minor build, the new Emsisoft Anti-Malware (reviewed here) extends its scanning capabilities to network shares.

Additional modifications touch on compatibility with Windows 8, which has been improved by changing the service restart behavior according to Microsoft’s requirements.

Additional enhancements refer to malware risk level rating and support for Enterprise Console.

Repairs are also on the list of modifications for this revision and address a bug in reloading of specific imported settings, an application crash triggered occasionally by clicking the menu items and an issue in the scheduler component occurring on midnight actions.

On the same note, the developer eliminated the problems relating to submitting custom host rules. The initial delay for missed scheduled scans or updates has been increased to one minute.

The fresh revision is delivered automatically to all customers through the update mechanism.
