If Wikipedia isn’t exactly your cup of tea and you’re looking for a more unique experience when trying to find info on a specific topic, you should really give a shot to Encyclopaedia Britannica.

The award-winning product is now available in the Windows Store and can be used not only on a desktop Windows 8 computer, but also on the Surface RT tablet.

The app provides complete access to the 100 top articles and the first 100 words of all additional articles. If you wish to read the whole content of an article, you need to purchase a subscription.

The app can store images, diagrams and charts, favorites and search history, while also providing valuable information on noteworthy events and birthdates in the “This Day” category.

More information on the app is available either in the Store or via this link.
