Ever since the company released the Surface Pro 3, Microsoft focused mostly on bashing Apple and its MacBook, obviously in an attempt to show that its new device was just the better option.

But in the last couple of months, Microsoft has adopted a more gentleman approach and started rolling out ads that are more focused on the real capabilities of its devices and less on criticizing products developed by rivals, and that's exactly the case of a new Surface commercial that was rolled out this weekend.

This time, the Surface 3 is promoted thanks to its artistic side that allows anyone with drawing skills to create state-of-the-art paintings with just a digital pen.

“Using only a Microsoft Surface 3, Surface Pen, and the Fresh Paint app, an artist recreates a 200-year old masterpiece, showcasing the timeless nature of true art, and the power of modern technology,” Microsoft says in the description of the video.

The app that Microsoft uses in this video is Fresh Paint, its flagship drawing app that's already available in the Windows Store and which is likely to get a greatly improved version with Windows 10.

As far as the Surface 3 is concerned, this is the latest addition to the Surface range and it comes with a 10.8-inch screen, maximum of 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and runs the full version of Windows 8.1 (upgradeable to Windows 10).
