Microsoft is still considering its options when it comes to the person to replace Steve Ballmer at the helm of the company, with a new report revealing that yet another important name has been added to the list of candidates.

Hans Vestberg, the CEO of Ericsson and who has been with his company for about 25 years, is said to be discussing with Microsoft a potential switch to Redmond, according to Bloomberg.

Several internals are also said to be on Microsoft’s shortlist, including Executive VP Tony Bates and cloud boss Satya Nadella, with the latter believed to be in pole-position to take over the vacant seat.

At the same time, former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, who will soon join Microsoft after Redmond purchased the Finish mobile phone maker, is also one of the top candidates, but some people close to the matter indicated that Nadella has the biggest changes to replace Ballmer in early 2014.
