A new version of the official Facebook app for Windows 8.1 is now available for download, bringing a long list of improvements, as well as new features.

While the official release notes are yet to be updated with what’s new in this release, the app now comes with support for photos included in comments, a feature that already exists in the web-based version of the service.

What’s more, Inferse is reporting that Facebook can now download photos and set them as lock screen background and user account picture, while location sharing options are available directly in the built-in chat tool.

Last but not least, snap view mode support has also been improved, so Facebook can now be launched side by side with other two apps.

As you can see, the official Metro client of the social network is getting lots of new features on a regular basis, so just download Facebook for Windows 8.1 to try out the new goodies right now.
