Chinese buyers don’t seem to find Microsoft’s tablet too appealing
The cheapest Microsoft Surface got sold out in less than 24 hours after the Redmond-based firm rolled out the preorder program and all the other models fared the same in the next few days.Stocks were refreshed, but the entry-level Surface is sold out once again. If you’re a Chinese buyer, however, you’re in luck.
Neowin.net writes that the $499 (€380) Surface is currently sold out in most countries it’s available in, including the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany and Australia.
China, on the other hand, has all the three versions of Surface available for shipping, which can be only bad news for Microsoft.
What does this tell you? Microsoft’s retail store still represents the fastest and easiest way to interact with the end-user.
Chinese buyers could only get the Surface online or at Suning stores, while the Windows 8 operating system is only delivered as an online upgrade.
