14 DAY TRIAL // Following the announcement that Google Reader will shut down on July 1, 2013, FeedDemon developer Nick Bradbury also broke the news that his RSS Reader, one of the best aggregators on Windows, will also be discontinued, at the same date.
The reason behind this decision is that FeedDemon relies on Google Reader for synchronization, just like plenty of other desktop RSS reading apps.
The lack of a “decent alternative” for Google’s service and developer’s time to integrate it if one was found, combined with the fact that FeedDemon stopped generating profit some time ago, led to letting go of the application.
FeedDemon has been on the market for more than 10 years and will continue to work even after the termination date, but it will not be able to synchronize the feeds. Thus, you can only read the feeds on the computer with FeedDemon installed.
